creatives 200609

June20

Been a while again since I blogged. I’ll just include some of the creatives I’ve worked on during ‘the break’.

Some of them are not actually concluded in terms of the details on them so… don’t attend a programme that won’t hold on the date stated until you’ve reconfirmed :D But hey just enjoy… as you can see, I like to keep it mostly simple. Simplicity (yet cool and professional can be harder than complex many times - talk about Economy of Space, Priority of Communication…)

Here they are:

Matrix - Who’s in Control?

June4

matrix_306a00e008cb2b6f883401156ea3fefe970c-800wi

The last article I wrote “One People, One Language” caught up with me real good - I mean certain positive things happened to me in the direction of the article (kind of authenticating it’s pragmatism). I was tempted to write on how one would feel with a million dollars (maybe it would just happen like the last article! :) Okay maybe later)

I know the movie Matrix is quite old (I think at least 10years old) though there have been three or four parts so this would seem very wrong timing to try to accomplish anything such as a movie review…or maybe not, but this is not a review.

Different people must have loved Matrix for various reasons, especially for the totally impossible things that were done. Except you were the script writer or something you sure would have had problems with grasping what the movie was really all about on time. Matrix had psychological/spiritual undertones. There’s however one lesson I’ll like to share that I learnt and haven’t just forgoten.

The humans created machines to help make work easier, to help moderate certain complexities, to help make accurate the ‘untrustworthiness’ of man. But along the line, the machines were being more than servants; Read the rest of this entry »

One People, One Language

Gen 11:6  And the Lord said, Behold, they are one people and they have all one language; and this is only the beginning of what they will do, and now nothing they have imagined they can do will be impossible for them.

It’s been weeks that I’ve written due initially to my ‘laziness’ and then there was a technical issue with logging into my site. But thank God it’s been resolved. I’ll make sure I make up for the days I’ve skipped posting.

A common lesson from the bible book of Genesis is that of the tower of Babel. I guess most people reading this
will be very familiar with the story and the lessons, but I’ll still share them anyway.

God purposes that we multiply and fill the earth so if you’re thinking that 6 billion (the population of the earth) is too many, rethink! God doesn’t want scanty spaces. If God says fill the earth, it means he has deposited means (in terms of wisdom and other abilities and resources) to get it done. The people in the earth however had ‘another plan’.

They decided instead of horizontal expansion…vertical! They intended to build not just a sky scrapper, they intended a sky penetrator :) Was that going to be possible. I assume at this time the civil and structural engineers were no where to be found or at least they did not have the sophistication to get this one of the kind complex structure up. There were no computer programs to simulate if all the trusses were in perfect alignment. There were no material scientists and engineers to produce the composite structure that would not fail even at, say, 200 storey or even more! God did not dare to laugh at them and say something like, “yeah right, build to heaven”. Read the rest of this entry »

Create Time

May11

42-20732533

Time has never been as scarce as it is today. Too many things regularly compete for our time. From work to more work and maybe play to overplay (with the likes of series like 24 and prison break), we’re in for a tough one on mastering our time as against just yielding to what comes our way. I remember a book I once had (I can’t remember how it left me without me reading up to 50%! …I remember a couple of books like that :) ). In time mastery (something like the next level after time management), it was shown that effective leaders in all spheres conciously or unconciously behave in a way that align with the thought that time is the most important of all resources. Leaders (the next level after managers :D ) try to exchange people’s time with other resources to take their own goals further than they could have ever dreamt of.

This post, however, is not an expose into the dynamics of time or something. It’s simply to enjoin us evaluate what’s really important to us and how much time we spend on these things. Read the rest of this entry »

Thr3e

April27

thr3epostbig
I’m not really a novel-kind-of-person but I was kind of ‘coerced’ into reading this novel, Thr3e. The Davinci Code is about the only novel that I recall I had read before Thr3e and finished! For the Davinci Code, it only took 2 and a half days to get through. It was a controversial book with some crucial aspects of it hinged on lies. Dan Brown twisted Christian historical facts and other historical facts to make it all ‘fit together’. It was a brilliant piece (I must confess). His writing style was impressive (though like I said hinged on lies). Anyway, this post aint about Dan so let’s go to the real business of the post…Thr3e!

Ted Dekker is more or less a genius. His ability to involve the mind with what is fictional but makes all the spiritual sense you’ll require is quite brilliant. Thr3e is about a nice guy named Kevin, a lovely lady named Samantha and a bad guy…Slatter (reminds me of one wrestler? :) )

Kevin grew up in an uncomfortable environment. He had lost his parents too early so he only knew his aunt Balinda (as family). He wasn’t allowed to go to school or even out of the house for once. His world was limited to the house. It was what Balinda said existed that did – the rest just didn’t. It was only the ‘real things’ portion of the newspaper that Kevin got to see, and that totally distorted his mind – maybe for the rest of his life.

Samantha showed up sometime in Kevin’s life Read the rest of this entry »

From Products & Services to Experiences

What happens when you take a well-designed Beautiful System and turn it inside-out? In other words: What is the ultimate upshot… not for people inside the company, but for customers … of Beautiful Systems? For Customers of Great Design?
Answer: a Full Fledged, Memorable Experience.
Increasingly, the “value added” that a company offers … the “stuff” that can add Billions of Dollars to its market cap … comes from the … Quality of the Customer Experience.

One of the most crucial questions every successful firm (brand leader) needs to answer is that of attracting and retaining clients or customers.

There are definitely several factors that could contribute towards this becoming real, but we’ll quickly consider the solution from one (crucial) angle – the angle of customer intimacy. Read the rest of this entry »

Creatives 140409

April14

Hi everyone!

Hope the Easter period was quite good (The next public holiday in sight is Friday May 1 :) - though I should be at Platform ). I spent a good portion of the break sleeping (I feel like kicking myself for it!)

It’s a pity I’ve not been able to do another post before now. I’ll just put up some other graphic stuffs I did for ‘a friend’ over the weekend (of course most of these things are mega rushed ;) ). By friday I should have posts on a book review - Thr3e by Ted Dekker and one or two other articles on life.

But here are some creatives I did though it’s not finalized and I’m asked to do more than one concept… :(

I’ve not written in some days now (I can’t let this happen as it’s the reason I’m just re-starting blogging). I have articles within but there’s not enough ‘flesh’ to add to those thoughts now.

But in the interim I’ll post some of the creatives I’ve done lately.

I’m working on a couple of websites. I’ll talk about them later. I can quickly let out my partnership company website that’s also underconstruction – MakarioWorks.

I’m trying to learn (or update on) a couple of web-techy stuffs I’ll have to use soon.

Be Wise on “Fools Day”!

April1
Clowns

Due to my witty (troublesome-in-a-nice-and-intelligent-way :) ) nature, some of my office peeps will likely I’ve expected me to pull off something today being “Fools Day”. I remember earlier in life, there would have been pockets of not-so-funny jokes here and there. I remember one in the Secondary School I attended (FGC, Odogbolu Nigeria) where the Senior Boarding House Master was told somewhere was burning only to discover after panicking that it was “April Fool”!

So shortly before today, I had to get a hold of myself. I had to know exactly where to balance humour and values. Was it okay to tell lies and have fun in spite of our “no lies” values? I’m naturally humorous especially in conversations, so I’m not particularly the ‘Sanctimonious Kill-Joy’ type (this may not be common knowledge for those not relatively close to me). But I also like to rethink. Should I just accept what’s trendy because the world says it’s cool and everyone is flowing with it?

Of course the Bible is not silent on issues like this. Yeah I know, “Fools Day” is not in the bible. And the bible actually encourages us to be free. Free from the traditions and cultures and other shackles (like circumcision) that try to box us and hold us down. But our freedom is not an excuse for sin.

So while I’m not subscribing to a humdrum life allowing for no humour, I believe there are boundaries (more of values and principles than Dos and Don’ts) that we should always watch out for in our dealings. We need to know how far it’s okay to go…and with who too. We need to continuously caution ourselves lest our good intentions to be nice or funny or …. witty don’t become instruments in the hands of the devil to glorify himself. :)
So we should rather seek for means to glorify God and to love and serve others with our wits, humour and whatever ‘talent’ :) we possess.
Gal 5:13  For, brothers, you were called to liberty. Only do not use the liberty for an opening to the flesh, but by love serve one another.

There are many things that if you wait till conditions are ideal, you’ll never get them done. Not that I’m not a fan of proper preparations or counting costs before starting, but I just believe there are minimum requirements that once they are met, you can start off certain things. Be it an idea, a business, a project, a relationship, a… [ok that should do :) ], you may just have to start when things are not Ideal.

So, while I don’t have all thoughts together to start ‘blogging properly’, I’ll do this first post (hoping to do at least one every three days). This post is Basically to lay foundations for the next weeks, months and years (of blogging) to come.

Acknowledgements: God is the foundation of everything that will last - everything that will stand the test of time - ‘cos God spans eternity past and future. So I dedicate this blog to God. I hope that God will find in me a vessel for expression on these pages. I hope that the blog will be used for the glory of God, for the benefit of man (yes, includes me!)

I acknowledge several individuals (I guess I’ll avoid mentioning specific names for now but some of them will be on my Blogroll and within the pages soon). These are superiors, contemporaries and more (online and offline) that have shaped me in terms of personality, ideals and development. They range from geeks to business people to pastors to….people (lol).

What will I blog about?

While I’m into IT (Creatives, Web design & development, flash presentations + anything multimedia that I can and will dabble into :) ), I generally do not consider myself a geek. I can be in front of the PC 24hrs stretch but somehow, I still don’t have the ‘geeky’ feeling :) . So for the records I’m not a geek, but I have a couple of friends that are geeks men!

So back to the question; I’ll be blogging about many other things asides IT. Things ranging from faith, personal development, impact, …., em of course humour :), yeah IT will make its entries too (though) I’m thinking of another IT blog… watch out…

I’ll do several book reviews, interviews, and many more things that are not revealed at the moment. This should help increase my personal development very well.

Also this theme should be around for about 2-3 months after which I’ll have a wider widget enabled theme…

I look forward to everyone that will visit tundeopaleye.com and everyone I’ll meet through this blog. I look forward to comments when they come and traffic too :). I hope to look back in a year and be glad because of the difference tundeopaleye.com will make in my life and the life of many of my friends and people that will eventually be my friends (that should include my enemies :) )
